About

The person
behind the work.

Marketing is what I do, but it's not the whole picture. Here's where I come from, what I spend my time on, and the way my head actually works.

Where I started

Music

Music fuels how I think. I spent a decade at further and higher education studying it, from a first-class honours degree, to a masters in research - and now a PhD in electronic music production and composition.

I produce, compose, play guitar and sing. That's not a side note to the marketing work, it's the root of it. Producing music teaches you the same things good marketing needs: how a lot of small parts add up to something people feel, and the patience to keep refining until they do.

Off the clock

Books

I read constantly, and somewhere along the way that turned into a book-review community on Instagram. It started as somewhere to keep track of what I was reading and grew into a group of people who actually talk to each other about books.

That same instinct that runs through my work: I'd rather build a focused audience that sticks around than chase a big one that doesn't.

How I think and work

The way my head works

I am autistic, which enables me to apply a naturally deeper focus, an analytical sense and a skill for pattern-spotting that makes my work more efficient and results-driven.

It's something to work around; I embrace it. When I get into a problem, i'm all in. I'll build workflows and pipelines that drive results, because I can see how the parts connect, and I notice the small things other people skip over. I'm direct, but empathetic, so you always know where you stand with me. I love turning messy, one-off projects into repeatable systems that clients can keep running long after I've moved on.

If you want someone who cares about getting the details right and won't leave a good system broken, that's what you're hiring.

Pattern recognition Deep focus Systematic thinking Honesty & directness Attention to detail Repeatable systems
